Takeyabu Yaketa

Set in the Taishō era, in the year 1923 when the Great Kantō Earthquake struck, the story is narrated by the protagonists’ great-great-grandchildren. Matsuoka, who graduated at the top of his firefighting academy class, specifically requests to be assigned to the Nobe Fire Station—a place rumored to be full of rough, thug-like members and currently under the command of Ise, a red-haired acting chief. There, he comes face-to-face with the man who once saved him from a fire during his childhood.
