Ronan receives a mysterious gift from his brother, Roy: a severely injured red fox. He tenderly cares for it, which surprisingly transforms into a human once healed. This human, named "Eugene White," reveals he is a fox spirit training for ascension but was subjected by his master to three earthly trials—resentment, separation, and unfulfilled desires—to achieve celestial transcendence.
